Mid‑Western University Birendranagar is a prominent public and autonomous university located in Birendranagar, Surkhet, Karnali Province, Nepal, established by an Act of the Parliament of Nepal on June 17, 2010 to expand access to affordable, quality higher education beyond the traditional urban centers.

As a government‑supported institution, Mid‑Western University (MWU) offers a diverse range of undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs across multiple faculties including Education, Engineering, Management, Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Technology, Law, Agriculture and Forestry, among others, with instruction available in both English and Nepali.
