Integrated Development Society Nepal (IDS Nepal) is a non-governmental, non-profit development organization established in 2000 in Nepal with the goal of improving the living conditions of marginalized and underserved communities through integrated and sustainable development approaches. Founded by a group of professionals from diverse fields such as engineering, environment, health, and social development, IDS Nepal focuses on community-based projects that actively involve local people in planning, implementation, and evaluation processes. Its core philosophy emphasizes that development should be community-driven and that technology and innovation must be adapted to local needs rather than imposed externally. The organization works across multiple sectors, including water supply and sanitation, renewable energy, climate change adaptation, infrastructure development, policy research, gender inclusion, and capacity building. By promoting participatory development, IDS Nepal ensures that communities take ownership of projects, leading to long-term sustainability and impact. Over the years, it has implemented numerous projects across many districts of Nepal, often in collaboration with national and international partners, contributing to improved livelihoods, better access to basic services, and enhanced resilience against environmental and socio-economic challenges. Headquartered in Kathmandu (Baluwatar/Tusal area), IDS Nepal continues to expand its role as both an implementing and advocacy organization, aiming to influence policies while delivering practical solutions that empower communities and support inclusive national development.
