Sahid Jagat Prakash Jung Shah Sanskrit Secondary School

Shree Sahid Jagat Prakash Jung Shah Sanskrit Secondary School is a public school located in Bidur Municipality, Ward No. 5 (Devighat), Nuwakot District, Nepal. It offers education from early childhood development (ECD) through Grade 10, making it an important local institution for children’s schooling in the area. The school was severely damaged in the 2015 Gorkha earthquake, but it was rebuilt under the Government of Nepal’s Emergency School Reconstruction Project (ESRP) with support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the new buildings were formally handed over to the school management in early 2023.
As a Sanskrit secondary school, it traditionally focuses on both general education and elements of Sanskrit language and cultural studies, which is reflected in its name and curriculum emphasis. The reconstruction project not only restored infrastructure but also helped the school become more earthquake‑resilient and better able to serve students from Devighat and nearby communities.
