Welcome to College of Development Studies (CDS)

College of Development Studies (CDS) is a higher education institution located in Old Baneshwor, Kathmandu, established in 2006 AD and affiliated with Purbanchal University. It is one of the first colleges in Nepal to introduce the Master in Development Studies (MDevS) program, focusing on development-related education, research, and practical field exposure.

The college mainly offers postgraduate-level programs such as Master in Development Studies (MDevS) and other development-oriented courses. Its teaching approach is based on participatory learning, which includes field visits, research work, seminars, group discussions, and workshops to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world development issues.

CDS is known for producing graduates who work in NGOs, INGOs, government sectors, and development organizations. The college emphasizes critical thinking, policy analysis, and community development skills, aiming to prepare students as “change agents” in society.
