Chitwan Medical College

The idea of starting this institution came up from a group of doctors who were passionate about starting a medical college (owned by Nepalese doctors) outside of the valley, at a place which would provide quality education to the medical students and more importantly, provide affordable and quality health care services to a large population of Chitwan.

The Chitwan District is one of the 77 districts of Nepal, located in the southwestern part of Province 3 with an area of 2238.39 sq. km and population of approximately 580000, and is a major destination for higher education, health care and transport business in the region.

After receiving LOI in 2006 A.D (2063 B.S.), CMC started BNS program in the same year. The foundation of this institution was laid on 2007 A.D, and its tertiary care-hospital situated at Bharatpur-10 was inaugurated on Bhadra 14, 2065. Now, after 13 years of service, the hospital has upgraded to 750 beds with more that 70% occupancy all the time, provides almost all modern medical services (with specialty services) along with advanced diagnostic facilities and imaging services, employs more than 1400 people (including clinical staffs, administrative staffs and others). More than 1500 patients visit the outpatient departments every day and it has become one of the major choices for the people seeking healthcare
