Chitwan Medical College is a Medical college and Hospital in Bharatpur, Chitwan. CMC aspires to be a center of excellence for medical education, services and research.
Chitwan Medical College was started by a group of visionary Nepalese doctors led by Prof Dr Harish Chandra Neupane, at a place which would provide quality education to the medical students and more importantly, provide affordable and quality health care services to a large population of Chitwan.
CMC was established with a vision that it would be an institute, where any aspirant could make it the destination of choice for the study of any branch of health related science. The academia started with the commencement of Bachelor in Nursing (BN) program in 2007, which was followed by B.Sc. Nursing program in 2008. Intake of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) started from 2009 with an intake of 80 students.
In the subsequent years, several other bachelor and master level academic programs were started: such as Bachelor’s in Medical Laboratory Technology (BSc MLT), Bachelor’s in Medical Imaging Technology (BSc MIT), Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS), Bachelor’s in Pharmacy (B. Pharm) and Bachelor’s in Public Health (BPH), Master of Nursing (MN), Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Clinical Microbiology (MSc Clinical Microbiology), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS) and various Fellowship programs. The institution now boasts of more than 800 undergraduate students. The college facility is located at Kailashnagar, Chitwan (approximately 8 km away from Bharatpur city, where the hospital is located)
