One of the most authentic family-run restaurants in Kathmandu , Nepal, is Tukche Thakali Kitchen. The entire aim was to make real Thakali home-cooked food available to the public and to visitors visiting Nepal. We use local produce available in the area, but many of the ingredients used in the restaurant are also obtained from villages in the region of Kali Gandaki, like Tukche village, and this helps to give the preparations here an authentic taste.Our restaurant's atmosphere offers a Thakali air and it is definitely the most suitable place to enjoy authentic Thakali cuisine. Mrs. Rekha Bhattachan wanted a career change when she was an instructor for 14 years and when her two children were sent off to boarding school. Auspiciously, this was at the same time that her brother had been brewing ideas to open a restaurant in Thakali. She enjoyed the principle of it and took up the task of overseeing the restaurant wholeheartedly. Tukche Thakali Kitchen has become what it is today with her zeal for good hospitality and commitment.For the last 19 years, she has been passionately managing the restaurant.
