Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre, Janakpur Branch is the Janakpur branch of one of Nepal’s leading government cardiac care institutions, originally based in Bansbari, Kathmandu as the Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre — Nepal’s premier specialist hospital for cardiology and cardiac surgery established in 1995.

Located in Janakpurdham, Dhanusha District, Province No. 2, this branch was opened as part of an initiative to decentralise cardiac care services outside the capital and began offering outpatient cardiac consultations and diagnostic services in 2075 BS (2019 AD), with formal inauguration by the then health minister the following year. Although it operates primarily as an OPD and basic cardiac diagnostics centre (without full inpatient or emergency facilities yet), it provides essential heart health services such as cardiac check‑ups, ECGs, echo tests, and specialist cardiologist consultations to patients from Janakpur and surrounding districts, reducing the need for travel to Kathmandu for routine cardiac care.
