Nepal Engineering Council (NEC) is the official regulatory body for the engineering profession in Nepal, established under the Nepal Engineering Council Act, 2055 (1999 A.D.), to oversee, standardize, and develop the engineering field across the country. Its primary role is to register qualified engineers, set and monitor professional standards, and ensure that engineering education and practice in Nepal meet nationally recognized criteria. The Council also accredits engineering programs and institutions, defines codes of conduct for professional engineers, and promotes ethical and competent engineering practice nationwide.
