Depot Secondary School was founded in 1963 AD by the Gurkha Brigade with the goal of providing high-quality education to the children of British Gurkha servicemen and ex-brigade servicemen at an affordable cost. The design of the whole school building was funded by the British Gurkha Service Men's Salary, commonly known as the 'One Day Pay Scheme.'In 1984 AD, the school received a major financial donation from the Hon. Dr. Horace Kadoorie and the Kadoorie family. This high school has used this generous gift to refurbish all of the structures and get them to a high level. School has been run by the British Gurkha Ex-Servicemen Family Association since the Gurkha Brigade left the Depot in 1989.The school is centrally situated on a large plot of land covering 13.53 Bigha (175.89 Ropani) in the northwestern part of the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS). The state-of-the-art facilities include classrooms (Nursery +2). Deport Secondary School offers ten plus two programs in Marketing , Engineering and Computer Science. It is affiliated with the National Examining Boards (NEB) and authorised by the Ministry of Education of Nepal.
