The mission of CDL is to provide superior and reliable diagnostic laboratory services to ensure quality of disease diagnosis and patient care.

Our vision
The vision of CDL is to set a benchmark for quality standard of diagnostic laboratory in Nepal. CDL is committed to offer cost effective wide spectrum of laboratory tests by utilizing state-of-the-art technologies, advanced logistics systems and highly experienced laboratory scientists

CDL has invested in technologies that allow flexibility in test menu expansion to develop with infectious disease markers and to carry out the most sophisticated molecular and genetic testing, therefore directly contributing to the realization of the vision of CDL to increase spectrum and coverage of laboratory testing.

The Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory unit based in our main branch at Kathmandu, Kamalpokhari is the only of its kind among the standalone referral laboratories in this region. CDL is strategically planned to reduce the requirement of sample to send out to other countries while reducing both reporting time and logistical costs.

CDL provides sample collection service at home by using special vein locator instrument and high class vacuntainer with barcode system for easier and comfortable blood collection.

CDL is equipped with modern instruments with backup facility and regular maintenance by authorized and experienced Biomedical Engineers.

Regular calibration of the test, use of internal quality control and participation in External Quality Assessment Scheme (EQAS) is another key for the reliable test report of CDL. We participate in Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, India’s quality assurance scheme. CMC’s EQAS is accredited by the NABL under ISO/IEC 17043:2010

Quality Assurance
Regular participation in an external quality assessment scheme (EQAS) is critical for ensuring acceptable laboratory performance facilitating optimal patient care. We participate in Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, India’s quality assurance scheme (Under aegis of ACBI). CMC EQAS is accredited by the NABL under ISO/IEC 17043:2010. CMC EQAS provides online feedback form and certificate of participation at the end of each year. We are also participating in Bio-Rad External Quality Assurance Services.

Molecular Diagnostic Unit
The Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory based in our headquarters at Kathmandu, Kamalpokhari lab is the only of its kind among the standalone referral laboratories in this region. This flagship laboratory features a state-of-art molecular laboratory set-up with Pre-PCR and Post-PCR spaces complying with the international guidelines. Central diagnostic Laboratory has invested in technologies that allow flexibility in test menu expansion to develop with infectious disease markers and to carry out the most sophisticated molecular and genetic testing, therefore directly contributing to the realization of the vision of Central Diagnostic Laboratory to increase spectrum and coverage of laboratory testing and minimize the dependency on outsourcing of samples to other countries.
