Adarsha Higher Secondary School was established by Krishna Prasad Koirala in the year 1986 B.S. It was the first school for general public in the period of Ranas. Most of the famous personalities in the eastern region have studied in this school. The great figures in Nepalese politics Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala, Matrika Prasad Koirala are concerned to this school directly or indirectly. Even the Ex. Prime Minister of the interim government Girija Prasad Koirala was admitted in this school in 1990 B.S. for his school education. Thousands of students have passed S.L.C. from this school. The school was seized by the Rana Prime Minister Juddha Shamser in 1995 and was known as “Juddha English High School”. Later in the year 2007 B.S. democracy was introduced and the school’s name was changed as “Adarsha School”. It was the only school in the eastern region. In the year 2030 B.S. the school was formed as Multipurpose Secondary School but later it has been conducted as general school as per the norms of the government.
