Welcome to CDM Nepal

Center for Development and Disaster Management (CDM Nepal) is a well-established non-governmental and non-profit organization based in Bhairahawa (Siddharthanagar), Rupandehi, that has been actively working to strengthen community resilience and promote sustainable development in Nepal since its early beginnings in the 1990s. Originally emerging in response to recurring floods and disasters in the Terai region, CDM Nepal has grown into a respected institution focusing on disaster risk reduction (DRR), climate change adaptation (CCA), and community-based development approaches. The organization implements a wide range of programs including water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), livelihood improvement, food security, and gender equality, with a strong emphasis on supporting marginalized and vulnerable populations such as women, children, and low-income households. Through capacity- building trainings, awareness campaigns, and local-level planning support, CDM Nepal empowers communities to better prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural disasters while also improving their socio-economic conditions. It works in close coordination with local governments, civil society organizations, and international development partners to design and execute inclusive and evidence-based projects. By integrating humanitarian response with long-term development strategies, CDM Nepal continues to play a vital role in fostering a safer, more resilient, and equitable society, particularly in Lumbini Province and surrounding regions.
